Taste of Cincinnati- May 25, 2008

Somehow, I dragged myself downtown post-call to meet up with the girls for some yummy food at the annual Taste of Cincinnati. It was packed with people and with all kinds of food. My favorite was the ginormous catfish sandwich though the sauerkraut balls, baklava, and cannoli's were good too. Afterwards he headed up to Crystal and Patty's rooftop deck to enjoy the city view.

Once de Mayo- May 11, 2008

For "J," we decided to hit up Jess and Corey's for a late celebration of cinco de mayo, make that once. Anyhoo, we potlucked the Mexican food, had some tres leches cake, and got rowdy at the poker table. I managed not to go bust first, in fact I was fourth-out, but not because of any personal poker skill.

Appalachian Festival- May 10, 2008

Appalachia is a culture of its own and a whole festival is dedicated to it. Oddly enough however, there were random pirates, American Indians, and other less Appalachian people there too. I do love fair food though and there was plenty of that...my fave being the fried green tomatoes and giant beers.

The Cincinnati Flower Show- April 20, 2008

After our late night out on the town the night before, we dragged ourselves out to the flower show at Coney Island as Katie really wanted to see the tulips. There were some pretty cool arrangements there, but the rainy weather was less than ideal.

Nada and the Mechanical Bull

Somehow, we all found the energy to go out on a Friday night. First off Marian, Kim, Brandi and I hit Nada, the newest hot spot to eat. Here's a pic of Kim and Marian racing to chop-stick out the fruit in their sangrias. Then we headed over to Cadillac Ranch (classy) and Marian rode the bull (good thing I was wearing a skirt that day and therefore couldn't partake).

The Color Purple

Brandi and I won tickets to the musical, The Color Purple, for our excellent made-up answers to tax questions. Brandi brought Michael and I brought Dawn. It was a fun night out on the town and interesting to see the Aranoff Center.
