La Boheme- July 23, 2010

A classic Italian opera by Puccini, I've always wanted to see it and luckily it's one of the highlights of the Cincinnati Opera's season at the Music Hall this year and Cathy was game to go.  It was pretty good.   I can definitely see how Rent was based off it.  The set itself was amazing, really fantastic.

King's Island- July 17, 2010

Another place on my bucket list was King's Island, so Cheryl, Dave, JT, Sapan, and I braved the hot muggy weather and the long rollercoaster lines.  The Diamondback and Firehawk were my favorites and the Vortex was cool.  The Beast was kinda painful though, I'm pretty sure I bruised my arms from the jostling.

Chalk B-Day Dinner- July 15, 2010

For a

Tara and Ndidi went out to dinner with me on my actual birthday, a last minute affair as I was on jeopardy.  But my belated celebration was dinner at Chalk.  A cute restaurant in Covington I'd always wanted to go to, it did not disappoint.  The duck fat fries were delicious and the choose your own adventure surprise 4 course meal was a lot of fun too.

Sara in Cincy- July 11, 2010

On her way back home to Kansas from South Carolina, or I should say out of her way, Sara stopped by beautiful Cincinnati.  She brought along Maji and stayed for a couple nights.  We hiked around Ault Park, ate some food of course, visited Stin in Columbus and just hung out.

Kareoke at Tostadas!- July 10, 2010

Despite living here for over 3 years now, we'd still never made it to the ever popular Tostados for Kareoke.  The wait was worth it as we rocked the house with such delights as "Don't Stop Believing" with Cheryl, Angie, JT, and I, while JT and Elizabeth entertained with "Free falling."  The Cudzilos, Dave, Tisdale, Jess, and Houser did not partake but joined in the fun.

July 4th at the Cudzilos

The Cudzilos graciously spent one of their last weekends pre-baby hosting the med peds family for a 4th of July cookout.  Most happily for me, Corey made his now-famous Tres Leches cake which I devoured.  Good times.

Picnic at Caroline's- June 30, 2010

So the class met up at Caroline's to discuss the addition of extra night floats to our schedule.  An odious task, but overshadowed by the fun we always have hanging out together.  Simon accidentally shot water all over himself trying to holster his gun in his pants.

My newest painting

I wanted to give Missy something special for her graduation and she'd always wanted me to make a painting for her.  She wanted a man sitting against a tree, so I thought a cowboy reading a book would be most in keeping with Missy's style.

Med Peds Picnic v3- June 19, 2010

The med peds picnic turned into a giant pool party for our class.  The kids were loving the kiddie pool and Rocco was having a ball eating all their food. It's crazy to think we'll be the graduating 4th years next year.  It seems like we just started.  Deep breath.

Hanging out in Covington- June 18, 2010

Despite living here for almost 3 years now, I really haven't spent any time in Covington which is too bad.  It's really a cute neighborhood.  We had a yummy dinner at Chez Nora and then a flight at a wine bar on the block.

Peds Graduation- June 3, 2010

It was a day of excitement for many of my friends, but for me it was a little bit of a sad reminder that they'd be graduating without me.  In the end, it won't be a big deal because most of them are staying in Cinci, but it's sad to think of the few that are leaving.

Celebrating my Match to Oregon- June 4, 2010

I have some of the best friends. We celebrated my patch in peds cards to Oregon first with dinner at the always tasty Dilly Deli and then headed to a new place downtown, Tonic on 4th. We had some really delicious drinks including one called a "Moscow Mule."
