Labor Day Fireworks- Sept 5, 2009

This is the first year that I've actually been in Cincinnati for Labor Day and I was excited to finally get to see the fireworks. Unlike most cities that celebrate with a huge display on July 4th, Cinci saves the big explosions for Labor Day. Any excuse to party is a good one, so we went up to Tara's roof, had some good food, some wine, and enjoyed the show.

Crystal Back in the 'Nati- Sept 5, 2009

The prodigal resident returns... Crystal came back from Detroit for a break from the good life of dermatology and to see all of us 'Nati-ites for the weekend. After all of Brandi's talk, we decided to check out Papademmos and it didn't disappoint. I was completely stuffed even before dessert. Good times.

GI Team Dinner- Aug 31, 2009

To commemorate the ridiculousness of our long GI month, the team got together at Buco di Beppo's for a team dinner. Just as crazy as the month had been, Anne reserved the "pope" table for us which I later found to mean that we would be enclosed in a circular room lined with pope memorabilia including a life-sized pope bust in the middle of the lazy-susan.

Getting Together at Caroline's- Aug 24, 2009

It had been a while since our class had a mow-down, stuff-our-bellies fest at Caroline's and it was just as yummy as always. New-father Jeff showed off his coordination in falling off his seat and we made Simon and Myles sandwiches after moving inside with the cooler weather.

Terry's Turf Club- Aug 28, 2009

After hearing so much about the hole-in-the-wall burger joint, Kim and I decided we had to go. We both happened to have the next day off (a not so common occurence) and went all out with delicious burgers at Terry's followed by a wine tasting and a flight of Italy's best at Awakenings after. Check out the enormous knife they gave Kim.

BBQ at the Nyes- Aug 22, 2009

Abby and Jeff decided to have an impromptu grill-out at their place and as usual the alphabet club was happy to oblige in the yummy kabobs and giant ice cream cookie sandwiches. The Lee's brought over the Speckner's dogs and it was a manic compilation of dogs and babies. Good fun.

St. Mary's Funfest- Aug 15, 2009

Little "quattro," Thomas Wood iv made it out and about for St. Mary's funfest where Simon had a blast going down the "really big slide." "It was a little scary."
