Day 3: Jhinu Hot Springs- Feb 27, 2011

So we got to relax a little on D3 and we hiked 2hrs down to a natural sulfur hot spring.  It was glorious, especially as we hadn't taken a shower in 3 days.  The river water next to the springs was freezing cold, but the hot springs water was perfect.                                                 

Day 2: Gandhruk to Chhomrong- Feb 26, 2011

Day 2 brought on more uphill climbs as we made our way up towards the Annapurna Base Camp.  While the days were nice, the nights were fuhreezing cold.  Good times Mountain life.

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek Day 1: Naya Pul to Gandhruk- Feb 24, 2011

On day 1 of our ultimately 7 day trek, we saw some rain, experienced the cold, gained some Dal Bhat power, and overall got in the wonderful rhythm of mountain trekking.

Indian Fashion- Feb 2011

In an effort to be respectful, we decided to go all out with Indian fashion and wear punjabis and tights for work.  All well, except for the very difficult task of finding clothes in a pattern-tastic world.

Mobile Clinic and Home Health Visits-Feb 17-18, 2011

So we had the privilege of spending a couple days at CHAD, where we got to spend one day seeing patients in the mobile clinic van and another doing home health visits with a social worker and nurse.  It was great to see where and how people live and just get in there.

Bangalore (Bengaluru)- Feb 19-20, 2011

For our 2nd weekend off, we headed to Bangalore (the Indian city best known in America as the place your calls go when you have computer troubles.  We explored the city by foot, getting caught up in the bustling marketplace, eating a 16-course meal (whew), shopping, and almost getting run-over by a cow.

Pondicherry for Kim's 30th- Feb 12-13, 2011

For Kim's 30th birthday, we headed for the soothing former French colony of Pondicherry overlooking the Bay of Bengal.  It was a lovely change of pace and Team Singapore helped us celebrate Kim's big day.  Overall the weekend was Eat, Pray, Love- lots of french and Indian food imbibed, praying at meditating at an ashram and temple, and love...of life.
